About Us

The Wisconsin Bike Patrol is a ‘Special Event EMS’ Unit, Federal 501c3 Non-Profit Organization, specializing in Medical First Responders on Bicycles, during Events, who can get to the injured, Quicker than other EMS Units, and can get through areas, where other EMS Units cannot go.

Our Qualifications

All of our TEAM members have Medical Training.
Many members are Medically Trained First Responders (WFA, OEC, Firemen, Police, etc.).
Most TEAM members are either still working in their Field or have Retired, consisting of Doctors, Paramedics, EMT’s, Nurses, etc. or have higher diverse Trauma Training levels.

What we do

We specialize in providing Medical Coverage for High-Adrenaline Events, primarily at Mountain Bike Races.
We also support a diverse array of other activities: CycloCross Races, Road Races, Road Rides, Marathons, Triathlons, Tour Rides, Triathlons, Marathons, Off Road Trail Runs and even our season-ending Abominable Snow Race; A Rugged Trail RUN, in the SNOW in January, where participants conquer 5K, 10K, or 20K courses packed with 15, 25, or 50 grueling obstacles!

How we do it

We have Medics on Bikes (On course & Stationed nearby). We have (2) independent Medical Units each consisting of: A Medical Treatment Trailer, a Medical Treatment Tent, a Medical Rescue six wheeled Mini ambulance UTV, loaded with Medical Equipment and Supplies and staffed with Medics, to treat or extract the injured.

Beyond Healthcare

Our team consists of volunteer medical professionals who are passionate about assisting athletes in need during outdoor sporting events, such as mountain bike or road bike races, marathons, triathlons, and more.

Our bike-mobile patrollers are specially trained to handle medical emergencies that may arise at these events.

All medics are on radios to call for back-up or assistance

We maintain off-road rescue units to evacuate injured individuals from remote back-country areas when necessary.
